To be honest, I think commercial buildings had the A/C units up on the roof. They look like huge boxes and haven't changed a whole heck of a lot. I'd also venture to say that most places, like warehouses, did not have A/C in the 50's. Commercial A/C was more for stores, theaters, restaurants, etc.

Actually been taking hundreds of photos but haven't been able to successfully scale the roof.
