Hey Ya'll

Who agress that Lionel should make a "James" engine for the
Thomas & Friends line.

If you agree post that you do. If you don't post that you don't. Simple Yes and No answers will do.

If you want to comment, don't go nito a long rant. A short one will do fine

Oh, before you decided. Just now that Bachmann has a James, as well as a Thomas and Percy

If they have made one in the past, then yes, otherwise, no. I don't think they ever made James.

They Made one in G gauge.

However, when the Thomas and Friends O gauge line was intoduced in 1997 new tooling had to be made for it.

So if they will make a James. I am willing to wait for the tooling and other things to be done.

Anyone else?

I think no. Toby the Tram would be cheaper / easier.

The Bachmann Thomas, Percy, and James are in HO. On Bachmann's website there are pictures of the Gordon that they are making next.

I certainly hope they do - I know I'd buy one. I've got Thomas, and Percy is on order.

I'd like to see James with added features such as lighting and smoke - possibly even going so far as TMCC and RS.

Ditto. We have Thomas, and Percy is on order. James would be my daughter's choice as next engine, I'd prefer Gordon. Either way, I think TMCC might be a a bit much in an engine of this genre. No? Smoke, and a light if applicable would be great though.

If a new engine comes out next year, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Toby. Like Thomas and Percy, he can be made from the same small 0-4-0 arrangement. But I'm going to dream big and wish for Gordon.

Yes size and ease of construction is the reason I say Toby. I think Thomas is a 0-6-0T. Percy is the 0-4-0T. Besides I have always liked the smaller boxcabs. This would be one of the first Lionels done since the 520 boxcab. This one would be fun to build into something else too.

Who knows? Their efforts to put modern roadnames on starter sets and starter products have been far less than stellar over past 15 years with no Norfolk Southern starter sets or engines on only one Conrail set (in 1993) and then the quality compromised, cheapened Conrail U36B from 2 years ago - which I'm waiting for them to reissued exactly with 2 motors this time before I EVER again buy a NEW Lionel engine.

For the obvious reasons, I hope that they do.

You know what I don't get? Why Lionel or Bachmann haven't made a model of Edward. Edward was the very first engine, even before Thomas! But obviously, Thomas became more popular than Edward, so...

But I think that Edward should be made.[tup] James and Edward always made a good pair.[:)]

I always did like BoCo too.[8D]
