How to slime your layout's waterways

Before the epoxy dries, drop some greenish sawdust into it and you will get some good algae growth. Also, add some pollution where it spews from the culvert. Sorry a bit hard to see. I'll get more pics this weekend.

I don't think I've ever seen a layout get built as fast as yours. That's just incredible. Great job on the water!

I made my water with decapauge coating . By accident I painted the plaster base with craft waterbase paints the color I wanted under the water . When I pored the decapauge into the lake it loosend the water paint some and gave streaks in the 1/4 in deep lake . I was real pleased at the way it looked.

Nice job, David! One of the fun aspects of scenery building is "experimenting" with things to see if its possible to come up with something a bit different and/or more realistic. And the real beauty of it is you can always rip it out and start over if you're not happy with the results. I don't have the space to do much with O gauge these days (aside from my holiday layout), but am working on a small Z scale layout that will also be a "laboratory" for trying a few techniques I've read about on these various forums or in the magazines.
