trainsetsonly website - reputable?

I did a search for an older set I've been trying to find and they have it in stock - has anyone bought from them? Apparently they are one of the few stores that still have it in stock - it's discontinued....

On a hunch I put www.trainsetsonly.com into the search engine and guess what, there is such a website. Here is a little information about the company.

Train Sets Only Contact Information

Customer Service: custserv@trainsetsonly.com
Web Site Issues/Questions: webmaster@trainsetsonly.com
Phone: 1-815-462-4720
Fax: 1-954-337-2716
Mailing Address: Train Sets Only
1040 Industry Rd.
New Lenox, IL 60451

Now, back to your original question. Not only have I never purchased from them, I have never heard of them until I did this search.[2c] I don't believe I have ever heard anyone speak of this company on the forum and I can't recall seeing an ad in any train magazine.

So, here's the bottom line. I have been into trains for almost thirty years and I have never heard of them, but maybe there is somebody out there, (Doug Murphy comes to mind since he lives in Illinois.) that has a great deal of knowledge about Train Sets Only. Time will tell.

Comparing their prices to some other sources, they seem to be on the high side. Still, if you found what you want and can't find it elsewhere, it might be worth it.

I was looking for the K-Line copper mine handcar set with ore cars and tools cars and they show it in stock. It was discontinued, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It does seem high on their site, but the price included shipping and handling.... I'll have to think about it if nobody else ever bought from them before....

I live in Illinois and not only have heard of them, I run it. :)

Although we're not yet advertised in the model railroad magazines, I can assure you that since we opened over four years ago, customer satisfaction has been our #1 priority.

Now that this matter is somewhat settled, I think Steve should order from Train Sets Only. Of course if they don't deliver, they now know that about 5,000 potential customers will know about it.

Like we said, ya gotta love the forum. [:D]

And Paul, [#welcome]. We hope to see more of you on the forum. It is a very interesting place to get the pulse of the toy train industry. These guys are not shy about telling retailers what they like and don't like. [soapbox]

Paul, if I might suggest something for an enterprising web store, put an email and web page in your signature. Free links always are nice.
