Dept 56 haunted coal car?
Posted by Brutus on Monday, September 19, 2005 9:17 AM
Walking through the mall and I saw this - for some reason it really tickled me! It's a handcar driven by two skeletons on a short run of track - looks like it would be great on a toy train halloween layout. My question - does anybody have it and how well do these things hold up? Who makes the Dept 56 train stuff? It sort of looks like it's o27 gauge to me, but I'm a newbie.

I'll have to look for this - there's a Dept 56 store in the Water Tower Place mall in Chicago - frightfully expensive usually to me. Their train stuff - the actual Xmas train I've seen ran on HO track

Several years back, Dept 56 had a trolley that was On30, which is O gauge that runs on HO track.

Like Doug, I will have to check this out this weekend.

They have a train set in O scale. It looks like a Bachmann On30. Engine, combine, two coaches.
Enjoy

I think you can find this cheaper, but maybe not in a mall....

Right - I think it's On30 - it's not O gauge 3 rail track....

Citylights is not in a mall, that place is something else. Christmas year-round. [:D]
