American Flyer Deasel Horn
Posted by Tom1947 on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 10:08 AM
I took my American Flyer diesel engine in for repairs. The repairman and I got into discusion concerning the deasel horn device used by American Flyer in its diesel engines. It was mounted in the dummy unit. He said the only thing could be done was cut the wire to keep them from buzzing. Is there an electronic diesel horn sound device available that could replace the orginal sound units in AF diesels?

Tom,

I do not know if this will help, but you could try contacting Dallee Electronics to see if they have anything that would fit in an AF loco.

Sometimes a rectifier installed will eliminate the buzzing from the coil yet still allow the horn to operate
