Interesting York dilema
Posted by ed11670 on Thursday, September 8, 2005 7:55 PM
I sent in my York application on Aug. 20th and had not received my table badge thru yesterday. So I called the tele number in the application and the fellow told me that this was the first time I had asked for a table, and that I would have to wait until everyone that had a table in April application was received, and then if there were tables left I would get one. Well I have had a table at York twice a year since 1977. thats over 50 times. but I didn't take one last April, so I am a newbe, But after me telling him this, he said that he will send out my badge ASAP. Just thought this was an interesting story. Maybe some of you had the same problem.

That's a crazy policy. The TCA seems to be an organization that is run by people who's joy is having a title in a national organization. They try too hard to be an exclusionary club, rather than one that looks to include more people. Let's face it if it weren't for York, the TCA would lose a lot of their members. It's really the only reason that most people join.

What's the dilema? ed called the # and after explanation the problem was resolved. The person at Eastern Division handled it. The system worked. Rulax it does not appear to me that the new BOD of Eastern is at all exclusionary or title happy. They are trying new things, some will work and others won't, but the net effect I believe will be forward.
Frank Dz, if its worth doing, its worth doing to wretched excess.
