Model Railroad clubs in the Leavenworth, KS area
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 9:16 PM
Greetings,

Are there any good Model Railroad clubs in the Fort Leavenworth, KS (just a little Northwest of Kansas City) area?

For that matter are there any good train shops in the Kansas City area?

Jeff,
Make a visit to the KC Union Station this weekend and check out the train clubs that have displays there. N, HO, O scale and O gauge have operating layouts and there will be someone there who can answer your questions. I will be at the KC Lionel Club layout Saturday afternoon, and we are always looking for members. The layouts are in the west end of the building, lower level.
For O gauge train stores, I would recommend Collectors Choice, 151st and Metcalf, and Halls Station in Crown Center, which is across the street from the Union Station.

Al,

Thanks tons. I will be moving there the end of the month.

Sorry, I will not be able to get there this weekend as we are getting the house ready for the movers. Most likely won't be able to get out and see stuff until mid August sometime.

It is nice to see that I'll have something to keep me busy besides work. [:D]

Big Steam,

What days does the Lionel Club in KC meet? I'm finally in the area, but that is about a 30 mile, one way trip (hate to go that far just find out the door is locked).

Jeff
