Welcome to the Las Vegas area. I've lived here for quite awhile but am new to the hobby. Maybe we'll meet someday in one of these clubs and exchange ideas.

Here's some thoughts I had, though it may not be worth much, but you guys could email each other & maybe get together at say a hobby shop or train show coming up. That's what some of us do in this area. It sounds like you guys don't live far from each other, but I don't know how big Las Vegas is!! Also, there are the bigger organizations like the TCA, ( Train Collectors Asn. ) & or LOTS, & I think a couple others, & maybe 1 guy could join 1 & the other guy join the other & when you do join, you get a list ( I think ) of other members in your area & some of those guys may have a layout & maybe get-togethers at somebodys' house weekly or whatever, and you can get together with them & go from there. Just my [2c] & [#welcome] to the forum Samstrains! Thanks, John

Not a bad idea. I can say that Vegas is bigger than most people realize now. I lived in Cleveland for awhile which is more spread out than here. But we are over 1 million and growing. I'm hitting some hobby shops this weekend and trying to learn about clubs and upcoming shows.

Should either of you find your way over to San Diego, need some cooler weather maybe, be sure and stop by and check out the San Diego Model RR Museum.
