nice work, Tom. That layout is full of shot angles.

I noticed the lamps in the 1st photo. I've been collecting shots of lamps for the past few months on the VRE line that I'll be sharing sometime this week in an illuminating sort of post.

Well, back to my novel.

Tom, can always count on you for some great photos. One question, where do you find the storage space for all the items that you appear to have?

Thanks Scott. Hope to get to meet you next time I'm in Roanoke.
New addition to the O size John Deere fleet. Will do good at coal loading and unloading on the NS and grain loading on the CN. Might get a couple more for track consturction and etc.

Good afternoon,

Had free tickets to the zoo today and it's probably been 20+ years so we took advantage of it. Thought of Tom today and took a couple of pic's, beautiful birds.

As several of you know, at the end of May a 75’ tall Hickory tree fell in our back yard directly on top of our deck and garden railroad.

Before the tree fell and before the garden rail road was put in place.

The tree on top of the deck and railroad

The tree removed and the deck and the railroad back to working condition. Note the garage corner is fixed.

We should have the deck power washed and stained this week and the trains running again in the near future.

In one room of the basement we have 24 feet of wall, from ceiling to floor with 5 ½ “ width shelves, which hold 2 rows of cars.

The diecast cars are on one of 3 wall shelves or 2 bookcases or 3 cabinets up stairs

Dougdagrump,

What are the trees made from in this photo? Are they dried flowers of some kind or man-made scale trees? I'm looking for inexpensive, realistic trees of all sorts, but these in particular look great. If I could find some in autumn colors, all the better. I'd appreciate whatever ideas you have to offer.

Jim,
I'll be back at the club layout this friday, so if I don't have a senior moment, I'll see if anyone remembers the source.

Having seen Tom's shelves, they are great and they are simple. I wished we had a folder where these great ideas could be stored by CTT.

Nice pics guys.
Great Ideas for storage. I like the drawer idear SCOTT. I have the wall units too, I like them but to use drawers for rolling stock is a neat idea. Any condensation problems?

No Laz, Scott does not have condensation problems. He does not have a liquor still in his basement like a Yanakee we all know. [;)]

Laz,
I don't think condensation will be an issue. The drawers are not totaly sealed and I run a dehumidifer all summer in the basement.
