Wiring Help Please
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 1:53 PM

I'm running TMCC with Atlas track, or trying to.

Firstly can any one send me a diagram on how to wire Atlas switches to the Lionel SC-2 controller?

Next is the power. I have a 135WATT powerhouse and have just received a 180WATT one to boost my layout power. I have two circuits of track and wi***o power each circuit from a powerhouse unit.

My 135Watt works through a Powermaster although I only run TMCC equipped locomotives. Am I right in thinking that if I isolate each circuit of track I can connect the new 180Watt powerhouse to the second circuit? If so how is the connection made as the powerhouse comes with the plug that goes into the Powermaster.

Some of you will think this is so easy but the wiring has always been my Achilles heel.

HI WIZARDTOYS,
What I did was get a TMCC direct lockon. It looks like a little silver track side shed. When you open up the TMCC direct lockon shed it has a place for your either 135 or 180 watt powerhouses, its a switch that you put it to either setting. It also has a A and U terminal for your track leads and a place to run your wire from your cab1 to run your TMCC engines. It also is equipped with a circut breaker that if a short happens it will not hurt the engine. This will put down 18 constant volts, but through your Cab 1 you can call up any of your engines. It works great for me and costs about 35 bucks. Hope this helps?

Wizard,

I have a diagram I can send you.
Reply to the private email I sent you.

Basically you conect the common to the SC-2 and then the switch legs from the two out side terminals of the switches.
The hot then goes to the center terminal of the switch.

As for power you can do what Laz sez OR,
You need another PM or TPC to control it.
This is a must if you plan on running conv. on both circuits.
