You are right, York is the best, BUT this small improvement will work for 15,000 attendees. How often do you find something with that upside and NO DOWNSIDE? With my vision I would need the Hubble to see the names. However I do like Daves idea of polo shirts. But what color? If we can settle on a color I will be off to Wally World tonite to buy some and a new pair of readers......Magoo Tim Reply Edit laz 57 Member sinceOctober 2004 From: Millersburg, Pa. 7,607 posts Posted by laz 57 on Sunday, May 1, 2005 10:04 AM I have an idear everyone that wants to meet corespondents at YORK just go to the CTT booth in the orange hall at a specific time and introduce yourselves to one another. Sound simple to me and you might get to meet one of the editors of CTT. laz57 There's a race of men that don't fit in, A race that can't stay still; Robert Service. Are you or have you done the same with the TCA? It would seem to me the fix would be very easy. I haven't attend a York meet yet. I joined the TCA in '04, but I plan to someday. I too would like to know whose who! I'll pass along your complaint to my local chapter. And I can see how the small lettering on the nametags could be a drag for some. What is kind of a bummer (and maybe not intented) is the direction of the title or subject of this topic. Maybe it could have read something like "Name tags at YORK need to be addressed." The way the thread is titled gives one the impression of something very negative about the YORK show. Sure the YORK show isn't perfect. But it does happen and it is a very big show. I guess I'm having second thoughts with all of the recent negative stuff especially relating to legal problems, lawsuits, brand loyalty.... makes the hobby seem like more of a drag than it is fun, especially to someone who is just checking out this Forum for the first time. Nothing wrong with speaking out within the confines of the Forum rules... the topic here is certainly a valid one. Just my opinion that the title makes the thread sound worse than it really is. brianel, Agent 027 "Praise the Lord. I may not have everything I desire, but the Lord has come through for what I need." Reply lionelsuperotrack Member sinceMarch 2002 273 posts Posted by lionelsuperotrack on Monday, May 2, 2005 7:34 PM Nothing negative about the post other then the title. Reason for that is to get people's attention. Wanted to get a feel for any real objections, of which, of course, there are none. The title made its point and it has been addressed by the leadership in the Eastern Division. READABLE name tags will be forthcoming at the next York. Hope that explains why it is worded as it is. Reply Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 5, 2005 8:36 PM How about standing in line for 90 minutes for a guest pass. What do you think my friend's impression of York is? The highlight was getting to the front of the line and seeing someone who seriously typed about 5 words per minute using the "hunt and peck" method entering everyone's info into a computer to ensure no one could ever return to the meet as a guest a second time, but be forced to join TCA. And TCA is encouraging new members to join? Reply Edit Join our Community! Our community is FREE to join. To participate you must either login or register for an account.
