Electrically isolated blocks using Lionel FastTrack

I had previously posted this in the MR Forum and ben10ben was gracious enough to reply. Any other ideas out there? Thank you.

Hello. How does one create electrically isolated blocks using Lionel FastTrack? Thank you.

-Using a dremel tool or hack saw, make a cut near the ends of two of the sections(to form the ends of the insulated block). Check with an ohmeter to make sure they're not connected. Fill the gap with expoxy or silcon caulk.

Once you've done this, you can use the quick connect connectors on the bottom of the section to power the block.

If you plan on insulating an outer rail for accesory activation, you will also need to remove the metal strap on the bottom of each section that connects the two outer rails together.
