Help with Stolen Trains
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 3:44 PM
I had quite a few trains stolen from my storage locker in Los Angeles last week. Approximately 175 Lionel items, 40 New Marx items, 50 MTH items, 30 Weaver items, plus various other manufactures, as well as about 40 1/48 scale armor plastic model kits.

They tried to sell some of the items at a local train store where they know me. This was unsuccessful. Because there were some TCA and TTOS publications with my trains, there is a chance they might try and sell my trains to someone who advertises in the TCA/TTOS publications. I am hoping some of those people read this list.

What I am asking is if anyone receives an offer of trains from Southern California, they contact me for a copy of my stolen items list. If the items offered match my list, we can go to the police from there.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did they hit other lockers at the same facility? If not, it is very likely that the people/person that did it knows you......or they knew what you had in there.

Good Luck

Very, very sorry to hear about this, Ramon. I would be freaking out!! Probably on a gurney right about now.

I hope that you get the majority of it back, and that the culprits enjoy some social behaviour in the Yard before long.

Keep an eye on e-bay. We had a rash of stolen radios from all the carlots in one area and sure enough they showed up on e-bay. When the athorities busted them they had like 400 car radios.
