Mistake on TCA Ballot
Posted by bobblaisdell on Friday, March 11, 2005 2:35 PM
I believe there is a mistake on the current TCA ballot that is to be mailed back to TCA. It says to fold the ballot and either tape or staple it. Then it says to put a 23 cent stamp on it. That is incorrect. The proper postage should be 37 cents. The postcard rate is not aplicable when a card is folded over like that. It is no longer considered a postcard so letter postage must be applied. I spent 27 years working for the USPS, the last 15 years as a window clerk, so I know a little of what I am talking about. I retired in 2000 so I suppose this could have changed since then but I doubt it. I put 37 cents on my ballot. If you only put 23 cents on your ballot it may go as postge due or possibly be returned to you for additional postage. Anyway they may be delayed if they are caught. Now that most mail is automated they may make it through OK but to be safe I'd apply 37 cents postage.

I put 37 cents on mine because that's the only denomination of stamps I buy. I didn't even know there was such a thing as postcard rate these days.[:)]

I looked at that and decided for 14 cents I wasn't making a special trip to the post office. Just figured I would spend more in gasoline to get there.
