Now that I have grabbed your fat belly attention Please scroll to topic on Fastrack after you hit the back button.....I have tried for a month to get Model railroad (although it is Fastrack) help on this site and all the craze seems to be what your name is and where you live and what your layout name is and what is for breakfast tomorrow ......VERY enlightening topics....Anyone feel free to shout back---at least it will be a response of some kind....Later

Sounds like after waiting only two hours you have a bit of an attitude problem. Sorry that you have been posting on the HO part of the forum and no one advised you of the ‘O’ Gage part of the forum.

Have you tried the advance search function and look up ‘Fast Track’. There has been plenty of threads on it. Maybe by helping yourself you can find your answers.

I am a person with a very active inner child. This is why my wife loves me so. Willoughby, Ohio - the home of the CP & E RR. OTTS Founder www.spankybird.shutterfly.com

SpankyBird...first of all I am grateful that you even responded and I mean it...I posted about a month ago in a different forum than this thinking it was the correct one and received 1 response a week later saying to HANG IN THERE. After 3 weeks I had 3 responses to Fastrack all saying go somewhere else...I am obviously new at this, but can carry on a conversatuion about the basics.I'm only looking for some entry level help.If you feel above that , than thats probably why you answered the post for gourmet food in the first place. I only posted the note that I did because I had my son sitting next to me asking why they are talking about coffee and supper and not trains....point made....also I'll disregard your reference to an attitude problem.

Sorry, but I think that I can safely say that any member of this forum who would not answer a question because they consider it to be too basic is not worthy of the title of forum member. If you don't get any answers to your question, it's because the people who read it don't know the answer, and if anyone does, they didn't read it. This is forum is a great bunch of people who are always glad to help people out when they can. There's a hit counter displayed beside every post that's updated every few minutes and can let you know if people are reading your posts or not.

As for me, I read your post and wasn't able to help you, which is why I didn't comment.

[#welcome]Hello , Sure had me fooled! Thought someone was planning another big get together here. There's so much going on on this forum in the way of Fellowship, once a person gets involved. Plans are always being made & so much information exchanged. I just love it here, as it's more than just about trains. After a while, & give it a try, these guys become real friends. Sharing food, layouts, stuff about their families & kids, trains, cars you name it! I now say Hang in there so you can share your up coming RR modeling ventures with us. I can tell you modeling is a lot different today, as we use computers now, & normally get info very fast. Anyway, Welcome aboard! Let me know if I can help. Don't know much about Fastrack, I use Gargraves, little more work, but much cheaper. Hope this helps, John

perhaps brickyard was jumping the gun, but it is an interesting commentary. Internet forums do tend to develop their own personalities with usually small groups of folks who interface on a variety of far flung topics. On one hand, it is an open forum, on the other hand, folks adopt it as their own space and you are either accepted or not. Lots of times folks are not completely accepted into the group and have they impression they have been shunned - even though the group hasn't done so willfully or consciously.

I posted a topic that contained a question that I was confident at least half the folks here had an answer for. A day or so later, I saw the topice had 53 views and no replies. I was disappointed that no one answered a simple question. Conversely, no one is obligated to do so and if I was worth my salt, I would have figured it out myself or got a book.. Eventually, I got the answer I was seeking and was glad to get it.

Interent forums are funny ducks. Poke around and you'll find one that's right for you, or you won't. Don't get too discouraged.

I found an interesting post on another forum. A fellow signs up and says his neighbor has a Lionel #### he found in his attic and wants to buy it from the neighbor. He was looking for advice regarding what to to pay.

The first response read:

"Look up in Price Guide to have some knowledge."

internet forums come in all types.

Thansk again to the people above. Dan

Another welcome to the forum.

I've been avoiding this post for the past few evenings because someone had a post about any post mentioning anything for free leading to spamming but finally my curiosity got the best of me. Other than knowing what Fastrack looks like I've only used O27 and Gargraves.
