Made a wooden tie gauge and can't find it.

Looked high:

Looked low:

Looked lower still:

...and there it was, all chewed up by BB the beagle.

Now I'm looking for my tin snips to make my switch stand.

Can't seem to find a darned thing. Tools everywhere.

Man do I need to get organized.

But if I do, it'll only look like this again in 20 minutes.

anyone else have these problems? No. OK, I get the msg

I have found that owning 2 or 3 of each tool does not improve the probability of finding one when you need it. May even lessen it.

I just spent an hour under the layout looking for plaster wrap for my mountain.

I still haven't found it, but I did find the Stud Finder I was looking for yesterday...

Forrest,

It's going very well. I'll have more photos in next few weeks......if I find the right tools I need.

I bought 3 additional tool boxes but there is no system and anyway, what good is a toolbox when you need the tools out and about.

Glad to see I'm not the only one creating a mess :-)

I thought for a moment that I was the only one who is not tidy...at least while i'm workin

Like Roy, I've gone out and purchased things that disappear, only later to find them reappearing.

Things that walk away most frequently include:

Pencils

Measuring tapes

razor knife's

and as for screwdrivers, when you need a phelps, there's only straight ones and visa-versa

So, I gave up and took BB in the swamps lookin for some swampers (thems wabbits)

Things that disappear never reappear when you need it - as Jon just validated!
