Fairhope, AL, train show, March 19 - 20

Things come alive in Fairhope, AL, the third weekend of March this year with its 53rd annual Arts & Crafts Festival and the Outdoor Art Fair that fill most of the downtown streets Friday through Sunday. That’s also the weekend of our 13th annual Fairhope model train show, Saturday – Sunday, March 19 – 20.

The train show, sponsored by South West Alabama Railroad Modelers (SWARM), is in the Kindergarten-First Grade Center at 100 S. Church Street a block south of the festival. Hours are 9 – 5 on Saturday and 10 – 4 on Sunday. Admission is $2 – children with paying adult are free.

Operating layouts include one Z, one N, three HO, one S, one O (Bay Area Railroaders, www.bayarearr.com) and, weather permitting, an outdoor G layout.

We currently have 68 dealer tables reserved, with at least six dealers and 25 tables of new and used O gauge.

For information phone Herb Kern, (251) 660-1659, dxlndkern@aol.com.

Just a reminder that our Fairhope train show is this coming weekend, March 19 - 20, with a lot of trains plus an outstanding arts & crafts show filling the streets of downtown Fairhope. I hope some of you can come.

Hi George, thanks for the info. I guess I'm a little too far north to still be a member of SWARM since I moved to Prattville. Wish I could attend, it's always a great train show with some nice layouts and a lot of good vendors. I highly recommend it to anyone along the Gulf coast.
