BCR vs Battery in MTH Standard Gauge
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 10, 2005 4:35 PM
Anyone ever use this capacitor unit, BCR, in place of the battery on MTH equipment? Four of my pieces don't get used much so I ordered one of these BCR units to try out. Thank you.

I don't own any MTH engines, and, therefore, don't have a need for one. What I would suggest doing, though, is going to the OGR forum at www.ogaugerr.com and doing a search for BCR. There have been quite a few good discussions over there on that very subject, and it's received excellent reviews overall.

I have used them with great success on several MTH Preimer Proto Sound 1 Engines. I find them easier than dealing with the need to charge batteries before I run an engine. Before I switched my collection to the BCRs, I burnt up 1 protosound-1 board and 2 sets of speakers. These BCRs have saved me alot of grief and work charging and charging batteries
