Thread on what do you think the NEW TMCC 2 will have on it?

OK, read on the other forum about Lionels new boss showing up at milburns trains and answering questions about everything. He said that the new TMCC would be retroactive with ALL older equipment, and will be debuted at the spring York show.

SO, what do you think the improvements are??????????

I'm saying right now, a LCD display of some kind.
Perhaps a better notched speed control dial.

He hinted that TMCC 2 will have the ability to do 2 or 4 chuffs at a touch of a button.

I just might have to go up there for this.

I think you're right about the LCD. I wonder if there are some things coming from Lionel that we don't know about yet that it will control. Maybe it will be able to control 2 items at once without having to put in ID numbers each time.

I think you can count on increased numbers of speed steps to "improve" Odyssey for those who like to take a long time building up speed :). Still no battery required in the locomotives for command control, however, but you can put one in if you like.

Neil,
I don't use a battery now and everything works fine.

I know Tom, I was just engaging in a little humorous example of how TMCC was already "newer" than other choices that are available :).

I had heard that it wasn't so much a new TMCC as it is a new Cab-1 i.e. Cab-2!

Possible Cab-2 improvements include LCD screen, Memory functions, Multi-tasking compatible, & PC uploadable / downloadable. (To work w/ 'Creative Trains' PC Command Control) HEY! .......... Whoa!......Did I type that out loud![:-,]

Neil,

Sorry Neil, I was a little slow on the take. I am looking forward to a new TMCC or CAB. The system is so easy to use now and it hopefully it will only get better.
