Built an AHM/Rivarossi O scale 0-8-0, then modified it for 3-rail!

I picked up the O scale AHM/Rivarossi 0-8-0 a while back and finally finished it, but all of my track classic tubular 3-rail.  So, I modified it along the way to work correctly on 3-rail AC!

I have to say, it turned out to be a very nice looking and well detailed model, and it runs well with the rest of my O gauge trains.  Just have to go easy on the run time due to the small motor, because I'm thinking it won't stand up to heat quite as well as the big metal motors in my Lionel, Marx and American Flyer trains, but I can always upgrade that if I ever want to.

I've already seen and commented on your video, it's a lovely looking model and a very smooth runner. Definitely on the list of things I'd love to do myself, but I've avoided seriously considering one so far due to the difficulty in getting a motorization kit that doesn't cost significantly more than the locomotive kit itself.

I also mentioned I had my own 3-rail Rivarossi O gauge... here's my A-A set of C-Liners, purchased at a show a couple years ago.

Both units have a powered front truck (horizontal F3 truck with a can motor conversion) and unpowered rear truck with pickup rollers (From an mpc SD). The plastic frames were reinforced with sheet brass, and lead weights piled inside around the powered trucks combined with magnetraction make them very capable pullers. I wanted to repaint them into the New Haven green & gold pinstripe livery but nobody seems to offer decals in O scale at this time, so for now they remain as found.
