Lionel RW Transformer Repair
Posted by joeponcho on Saturday, January 6, 2024 12:13 PM

Hello, I have an old Lionel RW Transformer and I replaced the Power Cord on it and light lens cover. The direction button was missing when I got it so I picked one up online. Is there supposed to be a spring under that Direction Button? There is nothing under it to hold it in place.

Thanks for any help.

No separate spring, the leaf of the switch is its own spring.

Thanks Rob, but that pic is of the Whistle Button. I'm talking about the Direction Button.

Thanks ADCX Rob. Is that the same picture you posted originally? That is the correct button. I attached a picture of mine. If you notice the piece of the copper tab or contact doesn't have the piece that protrudes up for the button to cli on. Would I need to replace that whole piece? Part # S-18? Thanks for the help!

I switched to the direction button view for you.

S-18 is available  HERE at The Train Tender for $4.
