K-Line universal lock on does'nt work.
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 29, 2005 4:32 PM
Hey guys. I just partially finished my layout , but all the track is hooked up.
I wanted to test it so I hooked up my CW80 transformer to the track with the K-Line universal lock on. There is no power. My passenger car won't light up, the train won't run. The lock on does'nt work. What should I do?

Thanx,

Colin

Check the reset button on your transformer. Then make sure you don't have a short anywhere, like wheels off the track. and try again.

Have you checked to make sure it's snapped all the way on?

I have several dozen lockons, among them several K-lines, and I have found that the K-lines are especially bad about popping off the track. If you've got the one that I'm thinking of, it's designed to be used on both O and S gauge track, and, as such, doesn't fit on either one quite like the correct lockon does. I still use them because I have both, and find having some lockons that will work on both types of track convenient, but, like I said, they don't have the best fit in the world.
