Where's the beef? Apparently in Moorefield, WV.
This scene's focus is the South Branch Valley Livestock Exchange. It's been an auction house for the past century, and you can still go there to watch various livestock sales (check their facebook page). The South Branch Valley RR travels right along the west property line, and the B&O used to pick up animals here and deliver them to packing houses in Baltimore. Today, you pass it if you ride the Potomac Eagle Scenic on its all day trip to Petersburg, WV.
A lot of pieces here, including a Plasticville stockyard, a Lionel 3656 cattle loader (trimmed with planking from a Lionel bridge kit), and my newly acquired MTH Rugged Rails stockcar. In the background are some old HO Revell Barn, and Plasticville Lumber Yard (changed to resemble an auction arena) buildings. The pens were scratchbuilt to fit the area.

Well here is my contrabution for today, It's my 400E pulling my 514R Reefer car, 1766, 1767, & 1768 Passenger cars.
I've tried about 5 different ways to get it to post, I give up.
Looking at that stockyard scene 'Fife I couldn't help myself, I started humming the theme from "Rawhide!" Ver impressive and packed with detail!
Smokey, "impressive" doesn't beging to describe that 400e! What a piece of machinery! Oh, as long as the link works you're good, don't worry about it.
Looking at all that beef on the hoof made me think of how much beer might be needed to accompany it. So here is the Daniel Greysolon hauling a supply of barley pop to those with a thirst.

That's fascinating, I've never seen cars like that. Are they Marx cars?
Yes. They are New Marx production. When I was reserching them I discovered that they come with different couplers. So far I have only found 4 brands of beer advertised.
Cool beer cars. But where do you add the smoke fluid for the simulated frosty door openings...?
Model railroading requires imagination.

Thanks! I remember when Jim and Debbie Flynn resurrected the Marx trains in the 90's. I thought they were pretty elegant but I didn't get any since I just wasn't into tinplate. In a way I'm a little sorry now I didn't. Maybe if I can find a good deal at York...
