Honestly I don't know.  On my computer when I post a link it automatically lights up.  I'm glad it does because I wouldn't know how to make it work either!

I have found that when copy and pasting a link it is often required to add a space after the last character to make it work.

In this case it works!

I had one of the really big tower cranes that I always wanted to install on a Standard Gauge layout.  It was about 3 feet tall.

No, it was a 90's yellow plastic rc crane.  Probably the same as yours but the size is a bit difficult to discern from your photo.  A Dorfan crane, even a repro, is something I've never seen in person at shows or museums.

think  a guy in our club may  have one.  He's a BIG Dorfan collector and I've seen his hoard.  There might be a crane in the collection but honestly my eyes were glazed over when I saw what he DID have.

Next time I'm in the "Inner Sanctum" I'll have a look.  Huh?

I wonder what it went for.  Even a T-Repro should have brought more than 200 dollars.

Oh, the guy I mentioned with the Dorfan collection?  He's got four of those cranes!  Three original, one reproduction.  One of the originals has a "Macys" sales tag on it!  I was in the "Inner Sanctum" this afternoon and saw them!  Wow!

No, I didn't ask what he paid for them, that would be gauche!  Embarrassed

Considering their rarity, zinc pest and all, 3 originals is pretty amazing!  Big Smile

The look to be in excellent condition too!  We were bringing chairs down for the club annual picnic tomorrow and the lights in the layout/collection room weren't on.  I'll get a better look tomorrow and report back.

I had the look today.  I was wrong, he has five of them!

Four originals, one is restored the others are in 75% to 85% original condition, no zinc-pest.  The repro I've already told everyone about.

I had a fun afternoon running one of his Dorfans and a Lionel 726rr too!

No.  I'm reluctant to take any pictures of someone's collection without express permission to do so.

WOW!  Five cranes!  What a cool dock scene you could build with 5 of those monsters and a REALLY BIG ship!

You know, for him it'd be do-able. He's got a big pond in his backyard!

But as he put it, "I'm a collector, not an operator!"

Not a big deal for them because they have them!
