Best Day Ever?
Posted by tgovebaker on Monday, January 24, 2005 11:58 PM
Today was an exceptional day! The mailman delivered a beautiful Lionel (conventional) Southern Pacific SD-70 (fresh off eBay) at the office today, which meant that I had too much to carry on the bus. The wife agreed to pick me up on the way home. In the car she informed me that she got a big $5k raise, so she was in an excellent mood.

When we got home, not only did I find the brand new CTT in the mailbox, but also the Railsounds and Command upgrade kits I ordered when I won the SD-70. I had to flip a coin to decide what to do first -- get the new engine integrated into a lash-up, or read the magazine. I nearly forgot to eat. Fortunately, my lovely wife was in an unusually good mood, and let me race down to the basement early.

Why can't we have days like this more often?

Enjoy!
