I just added this to my layout. Problem is that the train stops in the buffer area, even when the button has not been pushed. I have checked the outside wiring mulitple times and am quite sure it is correct. The interior wiring somewhat baffles me. It appears to be correct, except there is an extra attachment that connects the white and red terminals (see the blue line in the picture below). Could this be the cause of the stoppage?

Try checking the contacts and the copper drum for dirt or corrossion. Make sure the fingers are in proper position. Hope this helps.
