In the Greenberg repair manual, the pantagraph for GG one is part 2332P-1 and the pantagraph for other electric locomotives is 2332P-15
The illustrations seem to be identical; are they? I need one for a GG one, and what I see on eBay is listed as being for the model of the New Haven electric.

Considering that 2332 is a number for a GG-1, and not an EP-5, it would be very strange if the pantograph was incompatible with a GG1. However, part 2332P-15 doesn't exist to my knowledge- I think you meant to write 2350-15? Regardless of which part number you use, they are the same part as far as I can tell. I assume Lionel simply changed the part number from 2332P-1 to 2350-15 with the introduction of the 2350 EP-5.

I think that the distinction may be in the pantograph insulators. The GG1's insulators are white rubber and attached to the pantograph. The other models' insulators are cast into the locomotive's plastic roof.

The number changed when they changed the the springing/lockdown arraingement from the 2332 to the 2340's and the EP5's. that's what I was told when I bought a pair in the early 80's from Madison Hardware in NYC.
my GG1 is a 2340 which is a later GG1, and that sounds like the unit for the Ep5 would work. thanks v much
