Hello all

One of my kws had a bad roller.  Roller almost gone.  Put in a new high copper roller On both.  Roller pins were a bit short.  Not much to crimp to on the end.  I put a small drop of epoxy on the pin heads to hold.

Also installed a 16amp diode.

Throttle A 0 volts

Throttle B 0 to 19 volts

D 18 volts

C 6 volts

No whistle at all.  

Rollers spin nice and smooth.  
What would case the trouble?  What should I try next?

All solder joints good.  Posts good.  Just no voltage on a.

Getting voltage on the rollers themselves both a and b. Wire to A post looks good, solder joints solid but no voltage.

A post wire is dead all the way to the solder point at case top. No voltage.

Im stumped.  

Any suggestions?

I investigated further and took the top end apart, cleaned contact flat spring contacts.  It had voltage for a second or two when direction button pressed with top off.  Top on and nothing.  Can the top end flat contact springs that send roller voltage to the posts from top go bad?

What kind of diode did you attach? Have you tried removing it to insure thats not causing the problems? I'm thinking the whistle switch and diode are your problem. I would clean that switch out and upgrade the rectifier to a stud type.

Thanks.  It's a stud diode.  I will clean it out the whistle switches with some contact cleaner and report the results.  WD 40 makes a contact clean safe for plastic that I might try.
