IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME IN THE CITY 2

1. “Silver (_ _ _ _ _), silver bells”, let’s continue on, where we left off.  With the “4 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _)” of Diorama Studios, as Roger Carp called them in the aforementioned CTT SIP.
2. When it became obvious that the sweeping and (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Lionel (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Panorama of 1945 just wasn’t going to cut it going forward, it fell to (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Director Joe (_ _ _ _ _ _) to come up with a plan to replace it.  He most likely put the employees in the service and (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) departments to work on finishing the rebuilt layout before Christmas 1948.  Sadly, that (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) season would arrive and pass without the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) of Lionel’s showroom.
3. (_ _ _ _ _ _) Sherman, Arthur (_ _ _ _ _), William (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) and Steve (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) of Diorama Studios instead focused on getting the layout finished by Mr. Hanson’s new deadline; March 7, 1949.  In most respects, this date, 71 days after (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _), was the most important day on Lionel’s corporate calendar.  And those New York (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _) visitors would see the “New Lionel (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _)” before the general public.
4. But what does a 10 year old know (or care) about corporate (_ _ _ _ _) strategies and department store (_ _ _ _ _ _)?  You believe this magical marvel was built just for (_ _ _ _)!  And “(_ _ _ _ _ _ _) in holiday style” with all the artificial (_ _ _ _) sprinkled on it, who could blame you for not being interested in such “adult things” as business models.
5. Perhaps you did think about how, and maybe even who, built the beautiful (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) on the layout.  You could have asked Art Zirul how he built the (_ _ _ _ _ _) Meat Packing Co. if he was around the showroom that day.  You spotted this neat model on the southwest corner of the table when you finally turned your gaze away from the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) station you’d been admiring since you arrived.
6. If you were lucky, and behaved yourself, ate your broccoli, washed behind your ears, etc., maybe, just maybe, you’d find one of those No. 115 or 132 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) under your tree on Christmas morning.  (Unless, of course, you had a really BIG stocking!)  You already informed (_ _ _ _ _) Claus that you desired set No. 2175W, a five car diesel (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) led by No. 2343 (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _) F3 A units.  (And as it turned out, this would be the year to do it as the same set cost $12.50 (_ _ _ _) the next year.)
7. But Santa wasn’t likely to bring you a meat packing plant or any of the other handmade structures Mr. Zirul fabricated for Lionel.  To the right of the station were the Rail - Road (_ _ _ _ _) and the Best (_ _ _ _) Co., catty - corner to the beautiful (_ _ _ _) with silo and magnificent (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) to the northwest.
8. And, you probably didn’t even notice the moment when your thinking shifted from ovals and figure - eights to (_ _ _ _ _ _) building.  And hey!  What’s going on over there?  You race over to the (_ _ _ _) side to admire the three - stall (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) and the nearby (_ - _ - _) Manufacturing Co., both the handiwork of Mr. Vollheim.
9. And wow!  Look at that No. 313 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Bridge behind the roundhouse!  You’d better ask Santa quick to bring you one because 1950 would be the final year Lionel would (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) this (_ _ _ _ _ _) favorite.
10. Up front the No. 3472 Automatic (_ _ _ _) Car is unloading cans to the No. 3462P (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _).  You’ll definitely need one of those as the roster of (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) continues to grow in your mind.
11. “And signals!” you think to yourself as you switch from “amazed youngster” to “young (_ _ _ _ _) railroader on this life changing day.  No. 154 Automatic (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Signals, 151 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) and 153 Automatic (_ _ _ _ _) Signals protect the Lionel Lines in this town, and you’ll need them too.
12. “It’s time to go honey” calls your mother just as the image of YOUR “ideal Lionel layout” begins to foment in your (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _).  You look around one last time while you try to burn everlasting images of this wonderful place into your memory.  And you think to yourself “I’ll have to give Santa an updated (_ _ _ _)” as you grab a copy of the 1950 catalog on your way out.  You weren’t paying attention as your mother mutters something about a “Hall of (_ _ _ _ _ _ _)” or some such thing as you make your way back to the elevator.

When it became obvious that the sweeping and (MAJESTIC) Lionel (RAILROAD) Panorama of 1945 just wasn’t going to cut it going forward, it fell to (ADVERTISING) Director Joe (HANSON) to come up with a plan to replace it.  He most likely put the employees in the service and (DISPLAY) departments to work on finishing the rebuilt layout before Christmas 1948.  Sadly, that (HOLIDAY) season would arrive and pass without the (CENTERPIECE) of Lionel’s showroom.
