Former B&O GP-9 6604 currently is rostered on West Virginia's own South Branch Valley RR. Occasionally, it is called on to power the Potomac Eagle Scenic RR passenger train. It must be the last Sunday of the month, as PESX makes its monthly sojourn from Romney to Green Spring, and back. Here, 6604 leads the train across the timbers at Blues Beach, just south of Springfield, WV.
And again we catch it as the train nears Hanging Rock, just north of Romney, WV.
The engine shell is from a MTH Proto 1 engine, and now rides on a Proto 2 chassis and mechanism from a GP20. This "bash" was the result of the electronics going on the fritz in the GP-9, and the GP20 (former NYC, sorry Bob) not fitting the train room motif...

I did a bit of bashing myself. I took the shell off a Lionel Jersey Transit U-34CH and with a little chopping and channeling mounted it on a Williams GP7 frame, after the Lionel drive gears (plastic) wore out. I wanted something "bulletproof" and the Williams fit the bill perfectly.

The chopping and channeling I had to do was inside the shell, just to make room for the second motor on the Williams frame, otherwise it was a perfect fit.
I also bought the two-car add-on set at the time I bought the NJT set, then a year later lucked into three more cars for a total of eight! Makes a very impressive consist!

love that 4-4-0 Becky!I'm afraid that I'd make a real mess of this thread if I was allowed to, but I have yet to import my pictures off the camera- just got back from the St Lawrence Valley "Train, Toy, and Collectables" Show in Massena, NY. I was invited along to help a friend in assembling, operating, and packing up his modular HO layout, but was delighted to see lots of 3-rail O and Standard gauge at the show. Unfortunately nobody was running S gauge.My friend put in a siding before packing the layout up to go to New York, so I'd have a place to stage some things (since I had asked if I could put a few items on the layout). Pictured, at the close of setup day, are my Gilbert HO American Flyer hudson (in need of much work), a Hornby Pannier Tank Engine, and a Märklin 3-rail HO set, and then my Varney 'L'il Raskal' locomotive and cars. I ended up spending all my spare cash over the set up day, and the two show days. @FlintlockGosh... maybe I coulda, but didn't get his name. I met a brilliant fellow named Malcom who brought a delightful 3-rail layout and a mini workbench. He could be seen doing light repairs on some of the trains he had either brought from home, or purchased there. And of course, running his trains. I enjoyed talking with him quite a bit.@fifedogBe careful what you wish for... I've always understood Sunday Photo Fun to be a weekly thread, encouraging folks to share pics/vids of their work, or railroad/toy trains related material. For newer viewers, this ain't the Fifey show. This format has been going on well over a decade. I just so happened to have carried it along for the past several years. I for one am grateful for your committment to starting this thread each week. I always look forward to the photos posted by other enthusiasts. I have always tried to post my photos in only one thread. I don't want to bore folks with posting the same photos over and over again. With posting to two other threads here on CTT and most of the Northwoods Flyer Collection still boxed up and in storage after our move its tough to find "original" photos to post. And to be honest sometimes I forget what I have posted and where.
Here are some photos of reproduction tinplate vehicles by Paya. (Not sure where I originally posted them) I hope to use them on the still to be built new layout. They look to be sized about right for Wide Gauge.
