  1. Ach, du lieber!  (_ - _ _ _ _ _)!  In 1974 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) created the first “totally new” (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) of the (_ _ _ _ _ _) era, the U36B.  (The GP-20’s of 1973 used a modified (_ _ _ _ _) from the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) GP-7’s.)
  2. Debuting as the No. 6-1776 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) Line, the GE model became the motive power for the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) sale only (_ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _) Commemorative Series (_ _ _ _ _) cars and N5c (_ _ _ _ _ _ _).
  3. The next year, the U36B headed set No. 6-1585, the 75th (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Special.  Numbered 7500, the (_ _ _ _ _ _) wore (_ _ _ _ _ _ ‘ _) special logo and red and (_ _ _ _ _ _) paint.
  4. Also in 1975, Lionel cataloged the No. 8560 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Dummy Unit to accompany the No. 8470 powered loco that was (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) the year before.
  5. Pulling set No. 6-1560, the North (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Express, was the No. 8564 (_ _ _ _ _) Pacific GE with the “We can (_ _ _ _ _ _) it.” slogan on the (_ _ _) sides.  The matching uncataloged No. 8573 dummy unit was also (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) in 1975.
  6. The fourth loco cataloged, the No. 6-8571 / 72 “popular ‘u-boat’ in bright (_ _ _ _ _ _) markings” featured “(_ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _) forward-neutral-reverse, working (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _)” and “metal (_ _ _ _ _ _ _)” and could be paired with the No. 7600 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) caboose.
  7. A (_ _ _ _ _) more (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Electric models followed in the years when General (_ _ _ _ _) leased the rights to (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Lionel Trains.  (_ _ _ _ _) matching dummy locos were also cataloged during that time span.
  8. (_ _ _ _ _), black & white meant (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Northern, not coffee, in 1976 & 77 when the Nos. 8650 / 51 units debuted as the only U36B’s to wear (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) on their noses.
  9. It’s too bad Lionel didn’t produce a (_ _ _ _ _) unit to match the (_ _ _ _ _ _) and white No. 8669 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Central (_ _ _ _) loco from 1976.  The pair coupled with their long (_ _ _ _) ends together would have looked almost as good as the Nos. 8755 / 56 diesel pair in AT & SF’s (_ _ _ _) and yellow (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) scheme released the following year.
  10. Two other locos besides the (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _) pair that debuted in 77 were the beautiful blue (_ _ _ _ _) Northern No. 8771 and the fanciful No. 8773 (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) Express in red and white.
  11. Gracing the cab of the Nos. 8857 / 58 was the (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _) logo of the (_ _ _ _ _) and yellow (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Pacific units, the (_ _ _ _) GE’s cataloged in 1978.
  12. (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) green and gold were the colors of the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Railway and the Nos. 8955 / 56 U36B’s, while the green and (_ _ _ _ _ _) “(_ _ _ - _ _ _ _) Service” (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Lines 8962 loco contrasted sharply with the uncataloged Nos. 8960 / 61 (_ _ _) and yellow Southern (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) units in 1979.  The SP’s being labeled “U36C” diesels because of their new three (_ _ _ _) trucks.
  13. Going backwards numerically, the Nos. 8050 / 51 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) & Hudson U36C’s were joined by the No. 8061 Chessie (_ _ _ _ _ _) loco with “WM” (Western (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _)) on the cab sides.
  14. The last U36B of the era was the Nos. 8155 / 56 blue & (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) pair of 1981-82.  The diesel type would surface again only once in the Richard (_ _ _ _ _) / LTI era as the No. 1-8801 Santa Fe before the U-boats sank from sight.
