I went to a Train Show last I was givien an offer I could'nt refuse an A-B-A SET OF MTH F3'S A powered B dummy. The probluem is I can't get them to move I can get some sounds to work but thats it. Do I need MTH DCS for these, will they run on ''O'' tubeler track.                          THANK BIG KID  Bow

They should run conventionally, and on tubular track as well.  Did they come with the owners manual?  If the original owner ran them DCS only they may need a reset. Just guessing, I've got MTH engines (lots) but I've never run them using DCS, just conventional.

Are they PS-1, PS-2, or PS-3?

One other thing, the batteries in the locomotives may be completely run down.  Try leaving them on a powered up track for an hour or so and see if they come back to life.  I'm not familiar with the F3's but if they've got the MTH 9 volt battery in them any 9 volt battery will do if you have to replace them.

I've gotten some used MTH engines in the past that just sat on the tracks and didn't do anything at first and it's always turned out to be run-down batteries.

Can you post the item number or if you have no box post the road name and cab number. With that info a lot of your questions can be answered.
