Compatibility of marx freight cars with early lionel slot and tab couplers

I recently came across an affordable lionel 150 locomotive with slot and tab couplers. Before I buy it I wanted to know will these couplers be compatable with later marx slot and tab couplers so I can have this locomotive haul all my marx rolling stock? Thanks

They should be.  However the Marx cars would look a bit small compared to the loco.
