Is Atlas slowly leaving O gauge?
Posted by dlagrua on Saturday, October 17, 2020 7:23 AM

Maybe its just me but I have noticed a slow decline of Atlas products in O gauge. It appears that the rolling stock and locomotive offerings shown in their catalog are thinning steadily in recent years. It can be said that Atlas was always primarily an HO products company but the smaller focus on O gauge products may be telling a story. Does anyone know whats going on with Atlas??

I can't say I know what's going on with Atlas, but typically they seem to have a "hot n' cold" relationship with O gauge products.  They'll produce some nice stuff for a while, then run dry, then start up again.

There could be a lot of reasons but no one reason.  Production issues with China?  Poor sales of O gauge products?  (Can't imagine why, their stuff's nice!)  HO's hot but O gauge's not?  Beats me.
