TINPLATE TRADITIONS
58 WORDS

  1. The No. 10-1068 four car set adds (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) to the Liberty Bell, Coral Isle and (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _) cars of Lionel’s original Pennsylvania Limited.
  2. New for 1998 the No. 10-1078 four car (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _) bumped the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) car to separate sale and replaced it with the new (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _), a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) car with dining areas and a kitchen.
  3. The No. 441 joined the line of reproductions as the No. 10-1069 (_ _ _ _ _) Scale in 1998.
  4. The 4-4-4 wheel arrangement of the classic (_ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - _) wore (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) blue and red once again as the No. 10-1112.  Available in 1999 with either a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) style (_ _ _ _ - _ - _ _ _ _) motor with an E-Unit, or with (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) electronics, it pulled four car set No. 10-1114 which added (_ _ _ _ _ _) to the original three comet names.
  5. The enormous No. 444 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) made its return as the No. 10-1111.  You could place seven sections around a 10-200 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) to recreate the largest accessory of the prewar period.
  6. From the massive to the undersized, the Four Piece (_ _ _ _ _) Boxed Set was offered in 1999 with the Nos. 191 & 189 plus two 184 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _).
  7. (_ _ _ _ _) hundred series “(_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _)” cars were released along with the No. (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ - _) steamers with either green or cream stripes in 1999.
  8. In the year 2000, you could choose between the No,. 10-1122 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Set in American (_ _ _ _ _ ‘ _) two-tone blue, or the gold-plated No. 10-1126 with platinum trim.  The latter included the formerly brass (_ _ _ _ _) on the pilot deck.
  9. Complete with “Made in the (_ _ _ _) Shops” plates, the No. (_ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _) 4-4-2 steamer (No. 10-1123) could be paired with set No. 10-1125 to recreate “The Ives (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _)” of 1928.  Cages held animals such as (_ _ _ _ _) and two (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _), plus wagons, a boxcar, a stockcar with Draft (_ _ _ _ _ _) and a combine on the rear, all that was missing was the cardstock tent.
  10. Volume 2 of the 2000 catalog introduced the small, single bay (_ _ _) cars to both the 200 (10-1130) and 500 (10-1129) series of freight cars.
  11. Using a photo that appeared in CTT as inspiration, MTH cataloged the No. 400AE (10-1165 or 10-1166) in 2001.  Like the handcrafted original, this 2-6-6-2 version of the No. 400E was an (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) locomotive.
  12. 2001 also saw the addition of Michigan, Pennsylvania and (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _) cars to the State Sets and the first (_ _ _ _ _) cars and (_ _ _ _) cabooses ever produced for the (_ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _) series cars.
  13. MTH often introduced models of similar locos in the same year and the No. 1835E (10-1170) and No. (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ - _) (10-1179) of 2001 were no exception.  The latter, magnificent in (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) gray with (_ _ _ _ _ _) trim lacks the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) device of its 1933 ancestor.
  14. 2002saw the No. 400E steamers wearing Southern Railway green, Union Pacific (_ _ _ _ _ _) mist gray, Pennsy’s (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) green and the red, orange and black of Southern Pacific’s (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) trains.
  15. Loosely based on a Milwaukee Road prototype, Flyer’s No. 4637 led set No. 1485: the “Mountaineer” in 1928.  True to the original, the No. 10-1192 wears (_ _ _ _ _ _) plates below the headlights.
  16. Three great items were added to the Tinplate Traditions line in 2003.  First in the catalog was the No. 10-1193 which replicated the Lionel No. (_ _ _ _) twin-motored (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) with “(_ _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _)” on it’s sides just like the 1910 original.
  17. The “Flying (_ _ _ _ _ _ _)”, every bit as fancy as it’s President’s Special sisters, came painted in “Military Blue” and “(_ _ _ _ _ _) Gray” with plates on the loco’s sides reading “The (_ _ _)” in set 10-1196-0 (traditional) or No. 10-1196-1 with PS2 and a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) motor.
  18. The third outstanding item in this year before the Tinplate Traditions line got it’s own separate catalog represents Lionel’s first railroad item: the No. 200 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _).  The No. 10-1197 2 7/8” gauge car was made of (_ _ _ _) like it’s ancestors and had (_ _ _ _ _) trim on the corners.  (Although it’s doubtful that MTH used actual cream (_ _ _ _ _ _) boxes as J.L.C. did in 1901.)
