THE STREAMLINERS
50 WORDS

  1. Lionel introduced a model of UP’s “(_ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _)” M10000 train set with it’s (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) cars as the No. 752 in 1934.
  2. The No. 616 (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _) locomotive led (_ _ _) No. 617 coaches and one No. 618 observation and had (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) similar to those used on the No. 752.  The 1938 catalog lists the model of the (_ _ _ _ _ _) and (_ _ _ _ _) train set as the No. 267E.
  3. Pictured below set No. 267E was the model of the (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Railroad “(_ _ _ _) of (_ _ _ _ _ _)” streamliner, set No. 299W with a No. 636W (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _), two No. 637 coaches, one No. 638 observation and connecting vestibules.
  4. Introduced in 1935, Lionel’s No. 250E was a model of the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _)’s magnificent (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) 4-4-2 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) locomotive.
  5. Perhaps one of the greatest prewar mysteries is why Lionel chose to model the B&M copy of the (_ _ _ _ _ _) for their No. 267E set instead of the original Chicago, (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) & (_ _ _ _ _ _) Railroad train as American Flyer did for it’s No. 9900.
  6. Lionel may have planned to release it’s No. 221 (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Railroad Henry (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) -styled (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) train before 1946 had it not been for wartime restrictions on toy making.
  7. Only Hafner made a toy even remotely resembling a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Pacific “(_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _)” locomotive before Lionel’s No. 6-8307 (_ _ - _ _ _ _) of 1983.  Functioning (_ _ _ _) lights came much later.
  8. Lionel had several prewar locomotives wearing the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) name including the No. 264E, but of course none of them had a 4-6-4 “(_ _ _ _ _ _)” wheel arrangement.
  9. The (_ _ _ _) No. 635 loco represents the NYC (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) that served Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit and Chicago as the Nos. 657 & 658 cars attest.
  10. There seem to be two groups of people in the world.  Those who like the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Railroad “(_ _ _ _ _ _ _)”, which Lionel modeled as the No. 238E, and those who don’t.
  11. (_ _ _ _) Kuhler designed a streamlined shroud and American Flyer modeled it for their No. 556 prewar and No. 350 postwar (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) & (_ _ _ _) RR “Royal Blue” Pacifics with the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) dome logo below the bullet nose.
  12. Whether it be Lionel’s 2333 or Flyer’s Nos. 360-361 (_ _ _ _) PA’s, models of the (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _) Railroad (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) were a must have toy train in postwar America.
  13. Unless you owned a set of cars made by (_ _ _), you had to wait until 1993 to buy Lionel cars lettered for the California Zephyr to go with your No. 2379 (_ _ _) F-3’s of 1957.
  14. The MTH No. 30-1699-1 is a model of the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) of 1937.
