Great job!  The paint really makes the model!

Any idea who made it?

Lookin' great ! I painted a few in HO, back in the day. Does it have a clear lacquer on the brass, or is it bare?

A brass model is a wonderful thing!

Bare brass I used primer first.

O.k. Great! So, as bare brass, I am curious about this engine. Possibly a kit, or somebody's scratch build? The lacquer can be a primer in itself. But brass has been the material of choice for scratch builds. It can easily be formed, soldered together, and is soft enough to be cut and drilled easily.

I have seen partially completed kits, or scratch builds at train shows, and I am very curious about the history of this engine! If you find out any details, please share!

No markings but it is made very well out of very thick brass ..has embossed rivet detail on the boiler so one of the Asian brass makers probably made it.

Ok mounted the boiler to the MTH chassis.Despite the incorrect wheel arrangement (should be a 4-6-4)it runs and looks ok until I can find the correct chassis.

Cool!  I was wondering what you were going to do for a chassis.  Looks good!

Those trucks ARE amazing!  Big Smile  I like the 4-8-2 arrangement, even if it is temporary.  Has a "what if" feel to it.  Big Smile

those look like PRR 6wh passenger trucks. NYC use 6wh Commomweath trucks of a much heaver design. and some tenders were of the centipede style.

My guess is that this cab was sold by the now defunct Right of Way Industries of OH and made in Korea. ROW offered brass engines and was famous for its scale quality and high detail.
