Miss Mona eases across the long trestle, near Blues Beach.  To counter the periodic flooding of the South Branch (Potomac) River, the B & O constructed a series of wooden trestles along its 55 mile line, between Green Spring and Petersburg WV.

This Williams by Bachmann 10-wheeler is the best running steam loco in my fleet.  I love the low speeds, pulling power, and even the spoked wheels of the pony trucks.  My only "knock" on it is the space between the cab and tender.  Other than that, one of my best acquisitions.

That looks fantastic! Did you hand lay the track on the trestle?

Northwoods - Yes, sir.  But just the engine.  However, the red combine is on my "wants" list.

Postwar Paul - On this particular bridge, I used Ross sectional track.  I love the appearance of the wooden ties, and it conveniently uses the same pins as my Industrial Rail trackage.  The trestle was made from Aristo Craft bents (1:32 maybe?), with matching hobby wood glued on as cross members.  The whole superstructure was built upside down, so that the track would be level.

Smokey - Shhhweet B&O train.  Thanks for sharing.

O.k., thanks!

It looks like it could be hand laid. Wood ties.
