Lionel 18879 B&O GP-9 - RARE?
Posted by FEClionel on Saturday, January 8, 2005 3:23 PM
Hi everyone. I just purchased a Lionel 18879 B&O GP-9 from my dealer today for $219. I've seen this item in Grzyboski's add for $395 and stated as RARE. I was wondering what was the reason this would be a rare item and why such a high price for a Geep. This one has TMCC newest version of Railsounds and detailed cab and diecast front step and fuel tank. Grzyboski's is usually the bargain leader so I was wondering why the high price and RARE rating. If you can shed any light it would be greatly appricated.

Just to get it to sell... The Geeps are fairly primitive locomotives...

The [}:)] Doctor is in!!! The Greenburg 2005 price list quotes a "new" price of only $260.00. You got a deal !

Yeah I noticed the book price when I got home. Its a good looking Geep - but I don't know why anyone would call it rare. Anyway since I don't collect by rroadname just what color and style I like I think this unit will look great with some Postwar Celebration Series Cars behind it.

I guess if it was a Lehigh Valley you would pay twice as much...Anyway, thanks for the critisism - I like and I was just wondering why its stated as rare.

FECLionel, I hope youy did not take that as offensive in anyway, and If youy did, I am sorry.

If you think its a good deal and you like the unit, more power to you!

Regards,
Chris
