Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 6, 2005 10:58 AM
I;'m starting up in the design of a new layout. I want to purchase a CAD software package and I am looking for suggestions on the "best" ones to use. I want to be able to palce my room layout, design the space, place track and make a "fit" before I go into actuial construction. Amy help will be appreciated.

There's a free one available now, at http://www.sillub.com/ . Track support is limited to Gargraves, but there's a library for MTH track you can download. I've made my own library for traditional tubular track but it's limited to the types of tubular track I own and could measure.

It's a nice enough package, especially considering the price.

I just bought Turbo CADD at Staples based on the many recommendations I received on this forum.
