Thanks Don.  One of the items I changed was the bracing. The knee braces used on the legs always get in the way when storing items under the layout. I don't know why everyone believes the brace needs to be so long. If you are using 2x2 or 2x4 for legs and the leg is not over a certain length you do not need those long braces that get in the way. I'm now at a point where I need to do some final squaring of a few pieces.  BTW, remember the acoustical tile ceiling? NO ECHOS!

On my previous layouts I had a terrible time getting the track connecting a lower level to a higher level smooth and consistent. My solution was in a YouTube video where an O gager constructed a 2” change in elevation. However, I needed to create a grade for an elevation change of 10.25”. Big difference! After cutting the OSB, I started building the grade creating a downward grade of 2.5%. Every 20” the grade went down ½”. The risers were spaced accordingly and down it goes.

Base plate spans the joists and the risers located. 

More risers located and attached the base plate. Then the module flipped over.

Flipped over and ready to slide in place. The riser marked special ended up under a splice in the roadbed and was cut 7/16" shorter. 

In place and the roadbed is sloped at 2.5%.

Construction continues.

Grade to the top level is now complete.

Added more wood screws in strategic locations.

Ballast test.
