Percy Play Train, advice needed for conversion to AC, First Meccano Locomotive (Just the engine)

Howdy!! Cowboy Been a while ain't it, I've taken the pleasure of OWNING a Hornby O Gauge Original Clockwork Percy (Just the tank engine) from the Percy Play Train Set!! I bought it off eBay as a restoration project (its missing a right sylinder block though, that I'll replace with the metal one from Meccano) I'm really thrilled to own the locomotive finally, I've been wanting to convert an example to AC before using Lionel Components, I have a motor, although I forget the model it came from (The model was plastic and AC powered, the model you COULD service, it had a 2-4-2 wheel arrangment, I bought it as a Parts engine from a train show) not nessiarly sure how to go about re-building per-say I'd love to learn, (De-chassing an example) and I'm assuming some of you guys and gals had a Hornby O Gauge set, wheather it would be the regular BR (British Railways) varrient, a Play Train, or the Percy Play Train (Which I hear was an illegal model that Tri-ang made because they didn't have rights from the Reverand Wilbert Awdry) Wink still have yet to own a few Meccano "Dinky cars" that and some 4 wheel coaches will be my next purchase... Big Smile Hopefully I'll have something to go around the tree this year and for many christmas's after that too

A bridge rectifier between the pickups and the motor will give you one direction operation. If it runs backwards reverse the two DC leads.
