Lionel Sante Fe train help
Posted by brismith115 on Friday, July 12, 2019 8:03 PM

Hi
I was wondering if someone could help me place a rough value on my Lionel pieces? I have 4 Sante Fe cars. 2 engines one diesel one not and two passenger cars. Only only passenger car does not have a box. I have no idea how to attach the pictures here but I do have pictures.
Thanks in advance.

Brianna sent me some pictures, of a 2343P and 2343T AA set, and a 2531 Silver Dawn observation and a 2532 Silver Range dome car.  I suggested to her that, in lieu of pictures, she post the model numbers of all the pieces that she has.

Kalmbach, the folks who run this forum and publish Classic Toy Trains, also publish a Lionel "Pocket Price Guide" for $22 that should answer her question.  It includes an introduction with extensive advice about appraising toy trains.  The current issue covers 1901-2020, including the "postwar" period where her trains seem to belong.

If you goto Ebay you may be able to get an idea also, but don't go by the asking price, hit advance in upper right corner next to the search button, then enter your item in the page that opens and click on the sold box then hit search, this will give you an idea of what they are actually selling for. Plus remember condition is everything.
