Picked these up at a garage sale. lead. 1 1/2" tall  Would you recognize them and would you know who made them? As always, many thanks.

I have these guys too and I believe they are manufactured by the "Erie" company.  I don't know much about them.  I think they are from the '30's - early '50's.  Look on the underside of the base and see if they have an "Erie" stamp.  I've seen them mixed in with early American Flyer sets and accesories.

I have these also. My Dad had them on our 1957 era American Flyer platform. I do not have any information on them.

Bowser has also made these figures. I got a number of them about 20 years ago from Bowser because they are identical to the original ones made by Erie or Comet that A.C. Gilbert used to sell in the late 40's early 50's. They are over size for S-scale and a little under size for O scale but look great with the Mini Craft Buildings.
