Apologies - this apparently moved down the page pretty quick (and off PC screen) or any number of folks here would have provided you some thoughts/links.

Welcome to the CTT Forum!

Thor Trains has lots of layout ideas - some 4x8 fastrack

http://www.thortrains.net/

Lionel has Fastrack ideas here:

https://lionel-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/ftLayouts.pdf?v=1

CTT has ideas here (free download):

http://ctt.trains.com/rapid/2017/12/10-proven-lionel-fastrack-plans

Legacy station has some duplicates of the above, but more importantly a chart of the Fastrack straight sections (design guide) that helps one understand how to create specific lengths.

Googling (or otherwise) "lionel fastrack layout plans" brings up the info above and much more.

Good luck and have fun!

Regards, Roy

Welcome to the CTT forum. If I may make a suggestion, go to the Lionel catalog for track and power and see all the Fastrack sections. http://catalogs.lionel.com/16tp/html5/

Then look at this website:
