Lionel gauge super O repainted
Posted by Dan IE on Sunday, November 18, 2018 4:56 PM

Do you know if there is any market at all for Lionel train cars that have been painted and or altered, if just for parts if nothing else? My dad, who died a couple of years ago, had a train that he repainted  and altered quite a bit. Actually the engine seems to have not been touched which is good but the tender which had nothing now has the name of a real train he was trying to depict painted on the side. There are also 3 former flat cars that now have sides on them that be built with some thin wood. They offer some holes in the sides for soldiers to fire guns through. This train was supposed to be a troop train. My question is would anyone at all want them fora small amount of money each or perhaps just for free?

He also had some super O gauge track which I would think would be possibly of some value.

Thanks.

If you have any pictures to display, we might be able to give you a ballpark figure as to their worth.

Thanks. I had trouble with pictures because I couldn't just make them attachments so thought I'd just throw the stuff on ebay and see what happens. If someone wants them for a couple of bucks, fine. I'd give them away but you have to charge a few dollars to cover ebay/paypal fees on the items plus shipping. They will appear there in a day or so.
