A Day at York

Well I made out to the show yesterday. An amazing yet over whelming experience. It's like being at multiple train shows all in the same day. Did four of the member halls. Big regrete was never made it over into the orange hall. People were friendly and great to talk to. Ended up buying more then I thought I would, but actually got some great deals. My buddy Pete who went out with me says I got the deal of the show, ( a lionel 455 oil derick in the box for $30 ). I can now understand why it's said that you can't do york in just one day. already thinking about an over night in April. Oh BTW, stopped at the diner on Rt 30 after the show for dinner. Place was packed with all the trainguys and the food was really good. While we were there I met Lou Palumbo from the Underground. What a super guy. Well will be counting down the 6 months to the next one.

York can be addictive. Not sure If I will ever get back due to wifes stroke, but I really enjoyed myself the one time I got to go. I got the 3 TMCC B&M GP-9's set for about $100 less than I have seen it anywhere else, so I felt good on that. I think that was my only purchase.

Only my second time there, but I love it. I got there Thursday afternoon, and took a tour of the Orange hall before going to my hotel to check in. Was there from opening until closing on Friday. 

Picked up a nice pre-war set, as well as a Centerline track cleaner and a bunch of diecast cars. Missed out on a couple of things because I hesitated. Don’t really care, it usually works out for the best. I just really enjoy getting away for a couple of days, and spending them looking at trains makes it all the better.

I attend both the pre shows at the local fire halls and hotels and the York train shows.  I tend to find my best deals at the pre shows as some of the vendors are not at York and are there to SELL!  Great way to spend a week!! Looking forward to spring!
