Joe Grysboski
Posted by Warburton on Thursday, June 21, 2018 11:00 PM

I have the duty to report that Joe Grysboski Jr., owner of Grzyboski Trains in Scranton, PA, passed away suddenly according to the posting on their website.

He was a fine gentleman and long time major Lionel dealer.

I met him upon several occasions as I know many of you did and always found him to be a fine fellow and great ambassador for our hobby.

My deepest condolences to his wife, Teresa, and the entire Grzyboski family in their heavy loss.

That is very sad news. I see the sale display at the Edison shows during the year and they do support the hobby. Condolences to the family.

How tragic.  Condolances to the family.

On a personal note, I had a fun e-mail conversation with Joe last year after recieving a customer satisfaction enquiry when I mail-ordered a Lionel RS-3.

I responded most positively and said I REALLY enjoyed reading the Scranton PA area newspaper they used for box padding, it was "...fun to see what was going on in another part of the country."

Joe responded, "You know, you're not the only one who's said that!"

RIP Joe.  You were a giant in the hobby, and you WILL be missed!

I never met the man, but I did order stuff over the years from his store.  If I'm not mistaken, his business advertised in CTT from way back in its earliest days.  I hope his legacy continues on for years and years.

btw I believe his name is spelled "Grzyboski"
