really want to subscribe again to Classic Toy Trains. However, 40 samolies is a lot of green for a retiree on a fixed income. So I did some searching around and found a good deal for a subscription. As in $10 off. Thing is, I'm not sure it's permitted to give the link to the subscription location. I would also like to verify that I am getting what I pay for. Don't want to be scammed or have anyone else be scammed. Can a moderator PM me or contact me via e-mail and let me know?

Thanks,
Dep

The subscription is legit but I doubt CTT would want you to post it here.

Dep,

i do not know where you found it, but i wish i had known about it 48 hours ago.  Instead, i clicked the link that said i would get Immediate access, then chose the digital edition.  Still trying to get access.  So much for the word Immediate.  In my digital world, immediate means about ten seconds, not a few days.  They said i would have to get it through Vinio, which seems to have delayed the process even more.  Since when do we need an app to read an online mag?  That might have been true in the twentieth century.  As an editor of two online scientific journals, i am wondering whazzup.

Shoot me the link in an email at bkeller@kalmbach.com. We want to sell subscriptions, if it is our site, or an approved site, no problem. I don’t believe we are using outside subscription services. If it is not our site, there may be issues (i.e. Scam).

About 15 years ago there were a lot of mail order games being played offering low-low prices, but not getting around to actually paying us for the subscrption, which meant there was no subscription.

And yes, you need the Zinio app to see the digital editon.

Bob the site has sold paper CTT for years listed at full price. However now and then they offer a coupon that can be used to purchase many different mags., CTT among them. I'm thinkin they take the loss and Kalmbach gets their agreed upon price.

Bob,
Sent you a message and e-mail with the link. Didn't notice you had posted your e-mail in the thread. I'm holding off on using the subscription until I hear back from you.

Jim: Wow...that certainly stinks. I am not a fan of digital stuff. I like to hold those ex-trees in my hands and carry them into the "throne" to read. Laugh
I sent info to Bob about the website. If it is approved, I will post it. Maybe you can get a refund and get the paper subscription if you just activated it?

I sent you an e-mail Mike.

The firm isn't authorized to solicite subscriptions for our titles and the company has been asked in the past to stop soliciting subscriptions (and will be again). So don't post it here, please, though obviously you can share it via e-mail or PM.

Jim, I don't think they are taking a loss. We have an introductory one-time rate that occasionally gets mailed out to non-subscribers ($29.95) and I presume that they are entering the subs as a new subscriber.

Dep,  this morning i did request switching my digital subscription to print.  They seem willing to do it. The web page should not primise immediate access unless they are going to give immediate access.

Regarding the throne, a tablet is just as handy as print.  Not that i am recommending ipads be taken to the throne room.  Hygiene issues are probably the same for both print and ipad.

Wow! That's $4 LESS than the place I was looking at. Do I hear an even $20 samolies? LOL Laugh

HA! I found the location for $25.95. Looks legit to me. I think that is where I originally subscribed a few years back.

LOL...I was just kidding around. I am going to go ahead and subscribe to that location that is selling it for $24.95. I doubt that price can be beat. I asked Bob if I could post the link for it. Will see what he says. I don't mind being a "test track" for this, since the location has a lot of guarantees.

Well I just placed the order. Got a numbered receipt. Have to allow 8-14 weeks for it to start up. If I don't get the subscription, they refund the purchase price. It is ordered on a secure server. Looked legit to me. Smile

Before you guys plunk your Benjamins down, you might want to check the Better Business Bureau. Of the three discount magazine websites forum members e-mailed me today, two are rated F and the leader of the pack is rated D. Mainly for failure to respond to complaints or lack of delivery.
